So you will be delivered from the forbidden woman,
from the adulteress with her smooth words,
Please read the verse quoted above.
Read it again.
If you are a father of a son – read it yet again.
Any dad’s out there want to have their sons delivered from being caught with a forbidden woman?
Anybody want to know what the Bible says about how to stay away from an adulteress?
This verse – and the context of Proverbs 2 makes plain how men can be delivered from falling into this particular sin. . .
Check out the first 6 verses of Proverbs 2:
1 My son, if you receive my words
and treasure up my commandments with you,
2 making your ear attentive to wisdom
and inclining your heart to understanding;
3 yes, if you call out for insight
and raise your voice for understanding,
4 if you seek it like silver
and search for it as for hidden treasures,
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
Three ways to avoid adultery according to this:
1. Dads are responsible for instructing their sons.
2. Dads are to give their sons worthy biblical instruction.
3. Dads are to plead with their sons to call out for wisdom from the Lord.
What’s the common denominator? The father is the one responsible for the son’s growth and grasp in wisdom. . . particularly biblical wisdom in sexual matters.
Not the boy’s pastor.
Not the boy’s momma.
Not his lunch table.
Not the boy’s Sunday School teacher.
Wisdom says daddy supposed to give it.
How are you doing, dad?
