“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”
At 1 pm – Lord willing – me and three other guys will leave Little Rock & fly to Atlanta, hop on another plane for an 8 hour ride to Paris, and then hop on a third plane for a ‘brief’ 9 hour jump over to South India. If all goes according to plan we will land there around 27 hours after leaving El Dorado.
Between us we will be leaving – for 10 days – 10 kids, 4 wives (1 each!), 4 jobs, and all sense of normalcy.
Read John 3:18 again.
Believe in Jesus = miss condemnation.
Don’t believe in Jesus = condemned already.
Condemned already? What does that mean?
It means that rejecting Jesus doesn’t condemn you. All humans are condemned ‘already’ because all of us have rejected God. Rejecting Jesus ‘just’ means you stay condemned.
But here’s the thing – those who NEVER have a chance to hear. . . they are condemned already. They aren’t ‘good’ until they reject Christ. No, no. They are condemned to an eternal hell and desperately need someone to tell them how to escape.
We humans aren’t ‘okay with God’ until we hear the Gospel and reject it. We are all ‘condemned already’ and are not ‘okay with God’ and only have one way to make things ‘okay’ with Him.
Why am I going to India today? To do everything in my power to remove the condemnation from their eternity. Millions in South India have NEVER heard the Gospel nor have ACCESS to it even if they wanted to. I want to help make a way for them to hear. Just like us pre-Jesus – they are already condemned to a forever hell. There’s a way out.
