Or, not at all.
Yes, I am serious.
As you know, Woods Place is catering the food. Yummo.
“Why did we have Woods Place cater the food?” you ask? Well, because their food is GOOD.
AND because we thought if we announced that we were serving FREE food from Woods Place – people would come. . . LOTS of people would come.
And WHY do we want LOTS of people to come? Three reasons: (1). So we can interact with them; (2). invite them to FBC El Dorado the following day for “Easter on Main;” & (3) Ultimately, we want the lost/unchurched to know Jesus.
So here’s the deal (you might want to sit down):
Thinking that we are going to have LOTS of people come to the Eggstravangza on Saturday and since – though we have ordered a LOT – we did limit the amount of food Woods Place is bringing with them, we (Insert: “Servants”) want to make sure those who are not part of FBC El Dorado get first dibs on the food. Why? Well, we want them to have a good taste in their mouth (pun intended – see what I did there?) about FBC El Dorado and we want them to know that we value them above ourselves.
Some who come Saturday morning may not get another meal that day.
Some who come may just come to mooch (we’ve all done it).
Some who come may not have had anything to eat for a couple of days.
Some who come may have plenty of food at their home, but may not know Jesus.
Aren’t these the people we HOPE come to the Eggstravaganza and who we HOPE come back on Sunday?
So, if you would – to help us make sure non-FBCers get plenty of food – would you wait and see if we are going to have plenty before you eat? Or, eat a big breakfast and then go by McDonald’s on your way home? That way you won’t be hungry at the Eggstravaganza.
Let’s serve our community in this way. Let’s bless them in this way. Let’s let them know we care about them and sincerely want to see them have a relationship with Jesus.
Hey, not eating Woods Place food when it is catered for free? That sounds like “nobly daring, in the Spirit’s power, to make Jesus’ commanding claims known here and everywhere” to me!
Now – who do you need to send this to? Go ahead – cut and paste this to an email, email the link, tweet it, put it on Facebook, take a picture and post it on Instragram. You might want to even . . . dare I say it . . . dial a number and call someone! Get the word out!
