Hell is Trembling

And they sang a new song, saying,

“Worthy are you to take the scroll
    and to open its seals,
for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation,
10 and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God,
and they shall reign on the earth.”

Revelation 5:9-10

I am convinced the election of David Platt as President of the IMB is causing hell to be scared to death. Not because David Platt has some sort of supernatural “Jesus powers” or anything. But simply because God has anointed Him to – literally – do whatever it takes to get the Gospel to the unreached. David Platt will NOT stop until the unreached have a chance to hear and respond to the Gospel. I have ZERO doubt in my mind that he will lead followers of Jesus to this end . . . or die trying.

He knows and believes what the Word promises: this thing cannot fail.

So, reason #4 I am overwhelmed with tear-filled excitement that David Platt is the new President of the IMB:

Koreans in North Korea.images-2

There are just under 24 million of them whom God created for His glory.

Over 23 million of them know nothing of the One who died to save them.

“Although religious freedom is technically guaranteed by the North Korean government, religious activity is strongly discouraged. The Korean believe that deceased family members remain within the family circle, in spiritual form. For this reason, the most important concern of the family is to produce a male heir to carry on the family line. He is called on to perform ancestral rituals in the household and at the family grave site.”

Hell is trembling right now because the light is coming to this dark area of the world.

“Pray that laws in North Korea that restrict the preaching of the Gospel will be changed. Ask God to create an openness to Christianity within the hearts of the Korean. Pray that the doors of North Korea will soon be open to Christian missionaries. Pray that God will send His Spirit to convict the Korean of their need for the Savior. Ask the Lord to protect, strengthen, and encourage the small number of Koran Christians. Pray that God will give these believers opportunities to share the love of Jesus with their own people. Ask God to raise up strong local churches among the Korean of North Korea.”
